BMW India has given a special gift on the completion of 50 years of its most popular luxury sedan 3 Series. The company has launched the limited edition model – BMW 3 Series 50 Jahre Edition – in India. This special edition has been introduced in two variants – 330Li M Sport and M340i.
The biggest feature of these two cars is that their production is limited to only 50 units. That is, these will prove to be collector editions of the cars. They have been manufactured at the BMW Group plant in Chennai and can be purchased only through BMW Online Shop.

Design and Look
BMW has made the 50 Jahre Edition even more special in terms of looks. The BMW 330Li M Sport has been given M high gloss shadow line, carbon fiber trim and laser-engraved “1/50” badging on the B-pillar. On the other hand, the BMW M340i 50 Jahre Edition gets M-specific design elements, blacked-out fender badges, hubcaps, rear badging and exclusive laser-engraved markings. Both the cars have been introduced with unique paint schemes and premium Vernasca leather upholstery, which clearly shows that this is not an ordinary BMW but a special limited edition.
Interior and Technology
BMW has made the interior of the 50 Jahre Edition even more spectacular. The BMW 330Li M Sport gets a head-up display with 3D augmented navigation, carbon fiber inserts, electrically adjustable seats and a new curved display running on BMW’s iDrive OS 8.5. The BMW M340i, on the other hand, gets a red marked steering wheel, carbon fiber trims, 19-inch jet black alloy wheels, red brake calipers and M Performance accessories like a special key fob. Apart from this, digital technology also includes Live Cockpit Professional, a 14.9-inch curved touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital driver display and advanced connectivity features.
Engine and performance
BMW has launched both editions in different engine options. The 330Li M Sport 50 Jahre Edition has a 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder petrol engine, which generates 258 hp of power and 400 Nm of torque. This car catches the speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 6.2 seconds. On the other hand, the M340i 50 Jahre Edition has a 3.0-liter, 6-cylinder turbo petrol engine, which gives a power of 374 hp and a torque of 500 Nm. This car catches the speed of 0 to 100 kmph in just 4.4 seconds. The M340i has been given xDrive all-wheel-drive system, M Sport differential, adaptive suspension and high-performance brakes to increase performance. It is clear from these figures that the 330Li is more luxury and comfort focused, while the M340i is for those who are fond of performance and sporty driving.
