Many companies offer their bikes in this segment, but two names are constantly in the news – Bajaj Pulsar 125 and TVS Raider 125. Design and Looks
Talking about the design, the Pulsar 125 retains its classic sporty DNA. In this you get to see muscular tank, split seat (carbon fiber pattern) and traditional Pulsar style. 2. TVS Raider 125
It gets a 124.8cc 3-valve, air and oil cooled engine. It produces 11.4hp power @ 7500rpm and 11.2Nm torque @ 6000rpm. Although it may seem a little less powerful than the Pulsar in terms of figures, but the low-end torque and 5-speed gearbox give it a good response in both city traffic and highways.
Both bikes have a 5-speed manual gearbox and the riding experience remains smooth.
Mileage and fuel tank
- The Pulsar 125 gets a large fuel tank of 15 liters. This is a plus point for those traveling long distances. Mileage can be around 50–55 kmpl.
- The Raider 125 has a smaller fuel tank (10 liters), but according to ARAI, it gives a mileage of up to 56.7 kmpl. That is, it can be more economical for regular city riders.
Suspension and ride quality
- The Pulsar 125 has telescopic forks at the front and twin shock absorbers at the rear. This setup gives strength and remains stable in highway rides.
- Raider 125 gets telescopic suspension at the front and monoshock at the rear. This configuration is modern and gives a comfortable experience especially in city traffic and bad roads.
Braking and Safety
- Pulsar 125 has a setup of 240mm disc at the front and drum brake at the rear.
- Raider 125 also has the option of front disc and rear drum brake. It has SBT (Sync Braking Technology) which makes braking even better.
